With more than 25 years in the industry, Paola Turbay is a well-known actress, presenter, producer and director, who has also achieved crossover success in US market. Since 2012, Paola has been dedicated to cultural growth as an active member of the board of directors of the Circo Para Todos (Circus for All) and the Asociación Colombian de Actores (Colombian Actors Association), as well as the Co-founder and Executive Director of IndieBo. Alejandro, for his part, is an entrepreneur focused on creating strategies and opportunities that benefit the artistic community on a large scale. His experience in marketing, advertising and finance serves to provide IndieBo with a sustainable foundation for future growth to benefit investors, participants and audiences alike. Alejandro and Paola firmly believe in the bringing culture to the people, to impact society and support its transformation. Inclusion and education plus the creation of unconventional cultural spaces allows a society to live the culture and connect its people. To that end, in 2017, IndieBo will be present in all 20 distinct communities of Bogotá, in theaters, parks, plazas and outdoor spaces, providing people of all ages, tastes and means the opportunity to experience this unique audiovisual programming.
JUAN CARVAJAL – Director Artístico
After significant work experience in Europe, Juan Carvajal settled in New York City as a base to tour the United States in order to understand cinema through festivals such as Sundance, New York and Tribeca Film Festivals. In 2012, he created The Colombian Film Festival in New York, partnering with Tribeca Film Festival sites to promote Colombian cinema within the Colombian diaspora and the greater New York community. As a Co-founder of IndieBo, the Independent Film Festival of Bogotá, he seeks to promote the active use of the cultural and traditional spaces of the city to connect its people through the audiovisual arts.
